Coriander seeds for Lowering the blood cholesterol

One of my Japanese friend was surprised to see the coriander leaves, when we friends joined for a party at a Thailand restaurant at Tokyo. The Thai food use lot of coriander leaves. Indian food also use coriander in many dishes.

Coriander powder is an essential item among Indian spices. It is extensively used in sambar. It is not a surprise that Thai food also use the coriander as Thai and Indian foods possess many similarities.

The seeds of coriander or the coriander powder is essential ingredient in Indian cooking. Coriander seeds are dried in sunlight when they are ripe. Some people do not like the taste of coriander. Coriander leaves and seeds have strong aromatic odor and spicy taste.

Medically coriander leaves possess the property to lower the blood cholesterol. For persons suffering from high blood cholesterol and related pressure problems, coriander is a good suggestion.

Coriander seeds can be put in to water and boil to make it suitable for drinking. This boiled water can be used for daily drinking purpose. Put two table spoons of coriander dried seeds in a glass of water and boil. After boiling the water shall be cooled and strained. Drink one glass of this coriander water each in the morning and evening. This will help to lower the blood cholesterol level.

Dishes served with coriander leaves may taste spicy and highly aromatic. But they possess many medicinal values. Wisdom of our old people are not limited to eating spicy and tasty food, but to ensure health too along with food.
