The role of garlic and gooseberry to lower blood pressure

It is a fact that our day to day life is not so smooth as we dream. Stress from the bad experiences, worries on future, strain from the distorted relations… thus grows the list of human miseries. Mental stress eats up our good days. Knowingly or unknowingly we add up more oil to the flame of stress in our life through the food we intake.

Everybody of us can not withdraw and meditate daily as some people do. Meditation is the best way to control and lead a balanced life. Practical difficulties prevent many of us from doing meditation in a continuous way.

Food can control the stress to a great extent. Add more fruits and vegetable to the food will help. Vegetarian food habit has positive influence to reduce the high blood pressure. The wisdom of old people says there is something in the plant food that will reduce the blood pressure. Or is it the reverse way telling that there is something lacks in plant food that adds up to the high blood pressure? Both are true.

Fruits have plenty of potassium, vitamin C and soluble fiber. Studies show that vitamin C, soluble fiber and potassium are blood pressure lowering agents. Changing the food habit by adding more vegetables and fruits will reduce the blood pressure. Many of us are addicted to the taste of meat.

Some of the vitamin C rich fruits that can be added to our daily food are gooseberry, sweet lime, garlic, celery, fish and oranges. Gooseberry is rich with vitamin C and is a recommended food for reducing blood pressure. Called ‘amla’ in Hindi, Indian people used gooseberry extensively in their food. The raw gooseberry can be eaten as it is and is one of the best methods to consume.
Garlic is a species of onion family having scientific name of Allium sativum L. Garlic has been used since long time in the human history for cooking as well as for medicinal purposes. It has a characteristic pungent, spicy flavor that mellows and sweetens considerably with cooking.

Garlic acts as a vasodilator and dilates blood vessels thereby helps to reduce blood pressure. Garlic contains adenosine, which promotes vasodilatation and is also a muscle relaxant. If we can eat raw garlic, that is better and recommended. That will be little tough and if not possible to eat raw garlic, don’t hesitate to add them to your food.

The best thing with the natural and vegetable food is they won’t harm our body with side effects. Blood pressure is an outcome of mental stress and due to high blood pressure our body will be in danger. Act before both happens. Whether the high blood pressure or mental stress, what comes first is not important in our life. We have to act to prevent both, and if that is possible through food, why to hesitate a change in the menu?

Nutritional dieting for persons suffering from Arthritis

Arthritis is experienced by middle aged and elderly people. It affects mainly the joints and restricts the movements.

When I had severe leg pain at my left leg, I thouht of affected with artritis and searched the internet for remedy. I thought already I became elder at the age of 36 itself.

Most common form of artritis is osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Joint stiffness is the characteristic of this illness. Pain in joints, especially when in motion or when bearing weight is experienced. Generally joints of the fingers, knees, hip and spine are affected. I had some these symptoms and doubted that I have rheumatoid arthritis.

Several types of anti-inflammatory treatments ranging from aspirin to steroid therapy have been found to bring relief. However, no single cure can be pointed for arthritis. The pain is so severe that the patient over a period of time will get used with the pain.

If the patient is obese, doctors will advise to reduce the body weight. This will help to reduce the stress on joints while standing and walking.

Side effects of the drug taken to reduce the pain such as aspirins or steroids are seen in many patients, such as gastric irritation or even ulceration. In these case, protein and alkali mineral foods may be given to abate these side effects.

If sodium retention is observed, mild sodium restriction in the form of a 1000 milligram sodium diet will be prescribed by the doctor. Milk can be consumed as much as possible. Foods that create acid or contain acidic juices shall be avoided.
